dome extruder

A Dome Extruder: very cool machine to make us materials. It operates like a printer, except instead of ink as an old-fashioned printer uses—it employs melted plastic to build 3D objects. This means that the Dome Extruder is able to make our ideas and convert them to real, physical objects!

Before we explore the working of Dome Extruder, let us study a few components of this machine. To start, there is a special material known as filament. Filament is a long rubber band that enters the machine through the pipe. The Dome Extruder heats the filament until it's super hot and extrudes it through a small nozzle at the end of the tube. This process is how the machine generates the shapes we want.

Understanding the Dome Extruder

It cools pretty quick after being drawn out of the nozzle and hardening. This process of cooling makes the object that we try to create. The nozzle on the Dome Extruder moves around deliberately, following a specific pattern that indicate it where to lay down the plastic. By repeating this process over and over again, the machine gradually assembles the entire object layer by layer.

The first step to creating something with a Dome Extruder is designing it on the PC. This is called a 3D model. A 3D model is a machine-readable data that describes in detail what the machine should create. After you design your 3D model, load it into the Dome Extruder's software. From there, you will go through the printing process and see your design become a reality!
