It is a specialized technique used in the formulations of the liquidized bed granulation. This distinctive method converts the powder into small, spheroid balls known as granules. These granules are an essential substance as they are used to prepare different dosage forms of medicines such as tablet and capsule. And you need to have the right ingredients and the right forms when we make medicines, and granules are crucial to that.

There are two main parts of fluidized bed granulation process that act in conjunction to each other which include a fluidized bed and a spray system. The fluidized bed is a container which is filled with air or gas. The air or gas then forces its way through the powder to cause it to move and behave like a liquid. This allows for improved mixing of the powder and agglomeration to form granules. In the spray system, a special liquid called a binder is added to the powder.

How fluidized bed granulators produce high-quality granules

Adding the liquid binder to the powder forms small bridges between the powder pieces, helping to bond the powder. As air keeps passing through the mixture, those small connections can rupture and small granules start to form. Then, as we continue to add more of the liquid binder, these granules can grow larger until they are the perfect size we want for making medicines.

Fluidized bed granulators are excellent machines that produce uniform granule size, shape, and density. This matters because when the granules are uniform, they facilitate the uniform final product, such has medication, performs its best for those taking it. It does so by precisely regulating three main aspects of the process: airflow, temperature, and the amount of liquid binder that is deposited.
